Every once in a while I run into a product that speaks directly to me. Two brands that have always been near the top of my list, Salt Optics and Aether Apparel, have joined forces to launch the Explorer Sunglasses. Using a polarized filter to block glare and a photochromic filter that darkens to suit light conditions, these sunglasses guarantee clearer vision regardless of your location or activity.
Though the Explorer’s were made with the motorcycle rider in mind, they are strong enough for outdoor adventures while still providing ample style for a night on the town. A slightly square lightweight frame uses beta-titanium with nearly unbreakable temples that remain flexible enough to be easily taken on and off while wearing a helmet. Titanium nose pads keep them in place, providing a comfortable and secure fit that requires little to no adjustment while in motion.
Windshields on either side of the sunglasses and an extended frame-top reduce wind flow and peripheral sunlight by more than 80 percent. Strategically sized holes in the windshields ensure your peripheral vision is not obstructed. Color options include traditional silver (TS) with black tortoise side shield and photochromic/polarized G15 lens; brushed gold (BHG) with brown tortoise side shield and photochromic/polarized brown lens; black sand (BSG) with black side shield and photochromic/polarized grey lens; and black sand (BSB) with white side shield and inner mirror/polarized brown lens.
Both brands are known for creating pieces of timeless design with the utmost attention to detail. The Explorer sunglasses are available today for $600. Buy them at Aether Apparel.
