Now here’s something I can get behind. One of the top US destinations for craft beer is no doubt Portland, Oregon. Oregonians bond with their local mountains like few others in their respective states I’ve noticed in my travels. Standing tall at 11,250 feet, Mt. Hood is Oregon’s largest, tallest and most adventurous mountain playground. Nic, Matt and Leigh of North Drinkware have teamed up to combine their love of craft beer and their favorite mountain to bring you, The Oregon Pint Glass.
An instant success on Kickstarter, the team started with USGS topographical information of Mt. Hood, created a 3D model, and began working with a local glassblower to produce countless molds and prototypes until finally perfecting the pour over the mountains as if snow was falling from its peak. The Team plans to expand across the US so everyone can own a pint glass of their favorite mountain. Having one from every mountain you have summited would be pretty neat for climbers. Let’s hope they add the names to each when they start expanding so people don’t get confused about which mountain they are drinking.
Every glass will be handmade in Portland, holding 16oz of your favorite beverage. The minimum fund needed to take one home is only $35. Add $5 and take home a handmade Mt.Hood coaster to go along with it. Watch their video below then head on over to Kickstart to grab one here.
