Most of us will never have James Cameron’s bank account allowing us to reach the sea floor in search of buried treasure. For those that still want to take on underwater adventures, take a look at the TTR-SB Seawolf from TTRobotix. The Swedish company has launched the second version of their Seawolf remote controlled submarine. The new model adds better construction and GoPro support. Simply add your GoPro Hero3 or Hero4 and you’ll be exploring the deep, dark depths of your local lake or fishing hole in no time.
Your still images and video content will be captured underwater in depths of up to 8m/26ft. Live streaming support is also available. You can purchase the Seawolf in saltwater and freshwater versions. The Seawolf has a maximum speed of 3.3km/h (approximately 2MPH) delivered by a 5-blade brass propeller and three stabilization fins. An integrated 5,000mAh battery powers the submarine for 50 minutes before needing to be recharged. Three control options are available:
1. Version 5222-F11 transmits a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi signal controlled via smartphone.
2. Version 5222-F12 transmits a 5.8GHz signal to an included Bascom D4 controller with an 8-inch LED display.
3. Version 5222-F13 uses a 30m cable and a tether wheel rather than wireless signals.
The Seawolf would be a blast to have while scuba diving, fishing or filming underwater photography. If you’re interested in getting your hands on a Seawolf, you’ll have to wait until August. The TTR-SB will be available starting at $999. Learn more at TTRobotix.
