Having a rack on your bicycle doesn’t scream old lady anymore. Bikepacking and touring cyclists use them to carry everything from a sleeping bag, to a loaded set of panniers. Salsa Cycles, a company known for taking adventure head on, has just launched their Alternator 190 Rack, perfect for Fatbike riders and those alike.
The rack is made from rugged 6061 T6 Aluminum tubes and designed to work with Salsa designed dropout equipped frames. Though it should work with others carrying the proper dimensions. It’s offered in three versions to fit 135mm, 170mm and 190mm rear axle spacing. It has a 15kg/33lb carry weight limit, and is designed to stay as low as possible to keep your load stable while standing up to climb or seated.
