New for 2015, Toyota is adding a 1794 Toyota Tundra to it’s lineup, to honor its San Antonio plant where ALL of the Tundra’s are made. Having toured the factory and driven all around the campus, I can assure you it’s something you need to see if you are ever in the area. Learning how Toyota built assembly facilities for all their non-Toyota components on-site so each vehicle could be completed in San Antonio is quite incredible. Every Tundra literally makes its way on a conveyor belt system through each building until finished. No other factory in the world does it this way.
To honor its Texan roots, the 1794 Edition truck gets a Western makeover, featuring a Sunset Bronze Mica exterior color and top-of-the-line Lexus grade saddle brown leather interior trim. Matching wood components are found throughout the cabin, as well as matching floor mats. Custom 1794 badging is proudly furnished on either side of the truck as well. The 4×4 CrewMax model loaded up with running boards, chrome wheels and bedliner will run you in the neighborhood of $50,000.
