It looks like tech wizard, Kevin Rose, is back again with his latest endeavor, Watchville. The new Watchville App is a place for watch enthusiasts to gather all the latest and greatest timepiece information on their smartphone. Currently available only on iOS, it pulls information from websites like Hodinkee, aBlogToWatch, Watchtime, Haute Time and others. Although not a lifetime watch collector, we hear that Kevin started this out of the love for the Rolex watch his father left him. Over the past few years, he has been traveling to watch events meeting with brands to learn more about the time community.
We’ve been using the app for 3 days and loving it. It’s a great place to gather general information about new releases and other industry news. If you’re looking for detailed watch reviews, your best bet is to bookmark all of the websites the app pulls from and read them individually. The app does a good job of gathering the “greatest hits” if you will, putting it all quickly in front of you. It also sports a solid watch screen of course, giving you accuracy from several time severs, UTC, leap year information and the current moon phases. The app is FREE right now and you can grab it here.
We really hope they decide to add some more creative watch faces/screens. Parked next to your laptop, this could make for a good desktop clock with handsome screens.
