Apple introduced us to brand new iPads, OSX Yosemite, Mac Mini, iOS 8.1, Apple Pay and the new iMac today. There is a lot to be excited about if you happen to love Apple products. You can read all about them on Apple right now, most of hardware products available for purchase today. All of the software is FREE to download. In our opinion, the most impressive of them all is the new Retina 5K 27-inch iMac. You read that right, 5K.
We have 24- and 27-inch iMac’s around the office here and have been anxiously awaiting the arrival of retina to the iMac so we can upgrade. Not only did Apple kill every other display on the market, they beat them all by upwards of 60% more pixels. The new iMac features a 5120 x 2880 resolution that is powered behind 14 million pixels. That’s big enough to run 4K video samples in Final Cut Pro with room left to spare for editing. Curious how large a 5K image is? Download one here.
The new machine starts at $2,499 loaded with a 3.5GHz, Quad-Core i5 Processor, 8GB of RAM, a 1TB Fusion Drive, an AMD Radeon R9 M290X graphics card and 2GB of GDDR5 RAM. We priced out a loaded up iMac with a 4.0GHz, Quad-Core i7 Processor, 32GB of RAM, 1TB Flash Storage, upgraded graphics card, and added the must have Apple Care and it totaled in at $4,568. Just imagining photo editing on that machine brings a smile to our faces.
Head on down to your local Apple store in the next few days to test drive a floor sample. Our credit cards already ran away from us. Buy at Apple.
