We may not feature many toy collectibles here on AGW, but when we do, you can be certain they are next level. Hot Toys is at the top of the ladder when it comes to recreating authentic movie/action figures. Their work is always a highlight at Comic Con every year. Having just acquired the rights to license Star Wars toys from Lucasfilm, an entire collection of your favorite SW heroes and villains are coming soon. Today we got a first look at their Han Solo and Chewbacca 1/16th scale collectible figures.
With over 30 points of articulation and multiple accessories, you can position them in just about any stance of your choice. Every detail found on Han’s body, utility belt, DL-44 Blaster, Millenium Falcon headset and clothing are movie-accurate down to the scar above his chin. Han is 30cm tall and comes with a variety of hands for any situation. There is even a Special Edition model featuring a Stormtrooper Belt and Blaster Rifle.
Chewbacca is also 1/16th scale measuring 36cm tall. The likeness is perfect, just look at the detail around his face and hair color. Chewy comes complete with his Bowcaster, brown bandolier bag and headset. He also carries 30 points of articulation and comes with an additional set of relaxed hands when not holding his Bowcaster. Chewbacca noises sold separately (make your own).
Launch date looks to be sometime during the first quarter of 2015. No word on price yet but if they come in anywhere near other like items, I would assume to see a price tag of around $200 each. As a Star Wars collector since the early 80s, I will be picking these up and can’t wait to see their Stormtooper, Leia and BobaFett.
Head on over to Hot Toys for more of their collectibles.
