Known for some of the best designed cycling kits out there, Twin Six is getting ready to launch their first ever bicycle. The new Twin Six Standard Fat will launch at this years Interbike show in Las Vegas. So, why did they choose a fatbike for their first? Maybe because Twin Six is located in Minnesota where fatbiking has basically become a winter way of life?
The Standard Fat is made of T6 Titanium and we hear is only the first of many new bikes to come from the brand. Through prototyping, they decided the new bike will have “competition-driven geometry” and be available in 15, 17, 19, and 21-inch sizes. A very gentlemanly Twin Six silver plated head tube badge is located center mast on the 44mm head tube, ready to accept a carbon fork or RockShox Bluto fork.
The rear of the bike accepts QR or Thru Axles. 170mm spacing means you can choose up to a 5-inch wide tire. It also uses a 100mm threaded bottom bracket shell. The “lady with curves” chain stays and seat stays should be ready to gobble up the biggest tires you can find with room to spare.
This full-blown fatbike is expected to be released this coming Fall, along with an assortment of new soft goods. Early pricing tells us you should be ready to spent $2200 for the frame, fork, seat collar and top cap. Claimed weight is 4.2lbs for the medium frame and fork. Check back soon for more details.
