If you’re looking to get into Bikepacking, one of the first things you need to figure out is how to carry your gear. The more weight your bike can carry for you, the better you are going to feel over the long haul. Apidura has en entire lineup including front packs (handlebars), frame packs and rear packs (seat) available right now in their web shop.
The Apidura Saddle pack is designed to make full use of the space under your saddle, eliminating the need for a rear rack. The main body fabric is a Dimension-Polyant VX21 that is a 4 layer laminated fabric offering superior waterproofness, light weight and ultra high abrasion and tear resistance with low stretch. Built to carry loads of various sizes, it is best used to carry your sleeping bag or other compressible gear.
The pack is available in two sizes. Compact for endurance road racers and randonneurs and Regular for Tour Divide and long-haul cycle touring. The Compact weighs in at 350 grams with an 11L capacity and the Regular at 400 grams with a 17.5L capacity. Both use a three-point attachment system made from anti-slip hypalon for maximum stability. Other features include a bungee cord tie down feature for added storage, reflective graphics and webbing details for rider safety and Woojin Kross buckles are used in the fastening system.
