There’s nothing like American Muscle. We’re not talking about the guys down at your local gym. Raw horsepower, right-foot-splendor, go-juice, the stuff of legends. Smashing your right foot to the floor behind a big, beautiful V8 motor is a sensation that everyone should experience at least once in their life. The 2014 Bass770 is all of that packed into a 1960’s era body. Equus Automotive, out of Rochester Hills, Michigan, is building these beauties in house. That’s right, Made in America straight from the Motor City.
This isn’t just another hand built, “kit” car. The Bass770 is a pure luxury muscle machine. With a price tag over $200,000, it’s not for everyone. Under the bonnet is a handcrafted 6.2L supercharged aluminum V8 pushing out 640 horsepower and 605 lb-ft of torque. That power is matted to a six-speed, rear mounted dual-clutch transmission, which will launch you from 0-60 in 3.4 seconds. According to Equus, the Bass770 will reach a top speed of 200mph. Being a luxury automobile, the Bass770 is loaded with a wealthy interior and an equally worthy chassis and suspension system to keep everything under control.
“You will be cooler than anyone on your block with this baby in your garage!”
So, does the Equus Bass770 change your opinion of American Muscle cars? It should.
